On Tuesday, 2/19/2014, I had the pleasure of conducting my first ever workshop at the salon of a friend, LouLou in Hollywood (http://www.loulouinhollywood.com). Myself, Mary (the proprietor of LouLou’s) and new friend Angi (Reiki and fitness master (https://www.facebook.com/angidematteisreiki) hatched the whole idea about a month ago or so and thought, ‘let’s give this a shot’. While they were the hosts and details coordinators, I was the demonstrator that evening. I brought along my co-worker Nicole as my lovely model and we took her face from no makeup, to a 5 minute no makeup look, to a simple 10 minute every day kind-of face all the way to the 30 minute evening out look.
We had 5 attendants eager to learn and play with us that night. Mary and Angi served cocktails and snacks and we had a wonderful time!
I started out by simply adding eye primer to Nicole’s eyes, a light layer of MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, MAC Mineralize powder for bronzer and a skin-toned eye shadow with a bit of shimmer on her eyes and a pop of gloss to her lips. If I were not adding to the look, I would have also added mascara at this point, but for the purposes of the class, I did that at the very end of the 30 minute face. From there, I added blush to her cheeks and a soft brown crease color with a brow-bone highlight on her eyes as well as a soft eye liner on top and bottom. To create the 30 minute face, I added a dark purple in her outer eye corners to really bring out her green eyes, went heavier on the eyeliner, filled in brows an added depth to her lips with a lip pencil.
I personally enjoyed every minute of my first workshop and the hope is to have more featuring different looks. We’d thought about doing vintage glam, brows/winged liner/false lashes, the perfect red lip, contour and highlighting…but not sure what the next one will be yet!
So, a great evening was had by all, but especially me. I got to meet some awesome ladies that night and I got to share my love of cosmetics and share tips with all of these gals. I am beyond excited to conduct more of these if it works out! If you live in the Canton/Akron area feel free to follow me at http://www.facebook.com/purrfectface for info on upcoming events!
